Between February and June 2019, I had a successful experience as a Mentor within the Startup Air project, working alongside great people, both entrepreneurs and mentors.
Lavinia Cobrea, Partner Coordinator & Mentor, shares some insights from this experience.
I had the opportunity to team up with Florin over the past year in the context of two Romania Startup Plus projects, through which we aimed to find and support promising new entrepreneurs from our region. Florin contributed significantly to the growth of new businesses in his role as Mentor, and after nearly 9 months of working with 10 entrepreneurs from various fields, it became clear that this role fits him like a glove. It was a pleasure to see how the mentored businesses grew and transformed from an idea into an MVP or a documented business plan with concrete market validation actions, while the people behind the ideas matured and gained the confidence to strive for more and better after discussions and feedback sessions with him.
Moreover, I also learned from him during several mentoring sessions we participated in together. I observed how well-thought-out mentoring plans can be translated into structured dialogue and constructive feedback sessions with perseverance, aiming at the parallel development of both the business and the entrepreneur behind it.
Florin’s passion and openness played a decisive role in building and strengthening the trust relationship between mentor and mentee, a key ingredient for the success of such activities.
Thank you for a successful collaboration, and I hope we find a future opportunity to work together again soon.
It was a great opportunity for me to develop my skills and experience in mentoring. Thanks to the project managers Laviniu Chiș and Lavinia Cobrea for the opportunity.
